They don't let you play with friends unless you pay. By selling you these systems, they lock you into their overpriced ecosystem, helping them further the cycle with their ill-acquired money. Sony and Microsoft give you an inferior system, charge you a lot of extra money for it, and make you hold on to the pieces of junk for 8 years before they give you the option of (measly) upgrades.

And, now that the console market has stagnated and the PC is a viable alternative, it's very possible that traditional consoles with total control under a single corporation is entirely going to vanish. The openness of the PC was bound to be taken advantage of eventually, and what triggered it is the stagnation of the console market. I should also point out that it's well-known that past consoles outperformed PCs, but that was the past. I feel it's important to include this information in the article as soon as possible, since a lot of people get the wrong impression going in and don't take information to heart until they realize they're being educated rather than scolded. The Official PC Master Race Guide explains the core ideology:Ĭonsole gamers are not the common enemy. The PCMR is more tongue-in-cheek humor than a joke, though some people take it more seriously than others. If I make a funny picture and post it to reddit, then I see the picture the next day on iFunny with credit given to me and a link to my original post, do I really have any reason to be upset?

If there is an awesome mod that someone made on PC, but the mod maker doesn't feel like porting it to console, as long as credit is given to the original mod maker for making the damn thing, is it really an issue if someone goes out and ports it on their own? I mean at the end of the day these mods are just something people are making in their free time for a game they didn't make and are making no profit on.

In my honest opinion Bethesda should just create a system where if someone ports a mod and they give full credit to the original mod maker there would be no issue. They are getting caught up in the excitement and are acting a bit ridiculous sometimes, who cares? As far as I know no actual negative consequences have occurred, just a lot of typing.Īnd as for this outrage over mods being stolen, I agree it's pretty shitty that people are doing it, but again I feel like people are being a bit too extreme with how they are reacting to it. Modding has been a thing on PCs for decades and most of the hype has died down, while it's something brand new to console owners. Even going as far as to call it a modding "crisis". Seeing the way people are talking down to console gamers for "how poorly they are behaving" is getting a bit ridiculous. r/galaxynewsradio - Fallout-sounding music r/falloutcosplayers - Fallout-related cosplay r/Wasteland - A subreddit for the Wasteland games. r/thefalloutdiaries - Journal-like fan fiction. r/falloutmods - Fallout modding community r/classicfallout - Classic Fallout Games
